Greg Garrett, a relief pitcher with the Angels and Reds, died on June 7, 2003 in Newall, Calif.

He debuted in the major leagues on April 24, 1970 with the Angels and pitched in 32 games that season. He finished with a 5-6 record and a 2.65 ERA in 74.2 innings.

He was traded to Cincinnati on Dec. 15, 1970 for pitcher Jim Maloney, a 134-game winner in the major leagues.

The next season, he pitched in two games for the Cincinnati Reds..
