Throughout his career, he was an average offensive playerand an above-average defensive player.After playing in 14games in 1981 and 38 in 1982, Tolleson played in 134 for the Rangers in1983. He finished the season with a .260 average, 3 home runs, 20 runs battedin and 33 stolen bases.In 1986, he startedthe season with the Chicago White Sox following an off-season trade withTexas. After 88 games in Chicago, he was traded to the New York Yankeesalong with Ron Kittle and Joel Skinner for Ron Hassey.Prior to his baseballcareer, Tolleson was an All-American wide receiver at Western Carolina.He led the nation in receptions his senior year.
