Curtis Johnson Sr.Died: Jan. 27, 2004Curtis T. Johnson Sr., a former Negro League player and a councilman in St. Charles Parish, died on Jan. 27, 2004 from a heart attack. He was 71.According to his obituary, he played in the Negro Leagues in New York for two seasons in the 1950s.Following his baseball career, he spent more than 20 years in politics including serving as a police juror, councilman, zoning code enforcement officer and council secretary.
