Al Cuccinello, who played in 54 games in the major leagues, died on March 29, 2004 in New York.

He played for the Giants during the 1935 season and on May 30, 1935, he hit a home run in his first game at the Polo Grounds.   In 54 games, he hit .248 in 165 at-bats with four home runs and 20 RBI.

His brother, Tony, also played in the major leagues and on July 5, 1935, Al and his brother, Tony, each hit home runs in the same game. Tony’s Dodgers beat Al’s Giants, 14-4.

Following his career in baseball, Al Cuccinello spent some time working as a scout.
