The one time Spartanburg Methodist College baseballplayer made his debut with the Cincinnati Reds during the 1991 season.Sanders has hit more than 20 home runs in a season three times in his career. His highest run batted in total came in 1995 when he had 99. That season, he played in his only All-Star game of his career so far.Sanders spent thefirst eight years of his career with the Reds. Before the 1999 season,he went to the San Diego Padres as part of a deal for Greg Vaughn. In 2000, he became a member of the Atlanta Braves in a trade that sentRyan Klesko and Bret Boone for the Padres for Quilvio Veras and Sanders.Sanders rebounded from a poor 2000 season in 2001.
