In a career spanning 5 years,May hit .275 with 4 HRS and 215 RBI in 665 games.  He was signed by the Yankeesin 1932 while he was at Indiana University. He debuted in 1939 with thePhillies and played in the majors until 1943 when he left for militaryservice in World War II.Following military service,he became a manager in the minor leagues. Johnny Bench was one of his formerplayers.His son, Milt May, had a 15-year career in the majors as a catcher.
