Slim Emmerich, who pitched to a 4-4 record in 33 games in the major leagues, died on Sept. 17, 1998 in Allentown, Pa.

Emmerich made his debut with the New York Giants in 1945 and posted a 4-4 record in 100 innings pitched. He pitched 4 innings in the majors in 1946 and never appeared in another major league game.
