Ed Connolly, a pitcher who won six games in the major leagues, died on July 1, 1998 in New Canaan, Conn.

Connolly was 24 years old when he made his debut with the Red Sox in 1964. He finished that season with a 4-11 record and a 4.91 ERA in 80.2 innings pitched. He was fifth in the league, however, with 11 wild pitches.

He returned to the major leagues in 1967 with Cleveland and posted a 2-1 record in 49.1 innings pitched. He had a 7.48 ERA that season and it was his last appearance in the major leagues.

His father, Ed Connolly, was a catcher for the Red Sox.
