Dewey Adkins, who finished his career with a 2-4 record in 38 games, died on Dec. 26, 1998 in Santa Monica, Calif.

Adkins posted a 2-4 record in 99 innings with a 5.64 ERA. He made his debut with Washington in 1942 and pitched 6.1 innings for the team that season and another 10.1 innings in 1943.

He was back in the major leagues with Chicago in 1949 with the Cubs. He pitched 82.1 innings that season and finished with a 5.68 ERA.
