Al Shealy, a nativeof Chapin, South Carolina, jumped into the major leagues in 1928, appearingin 23 games with the New York Yankees.He pitched 96 innings that season and made 12 starts, finishing with an 8-6 record and 2 saves with a 5.06 earned run average. He did not appear in the major leagues in 1929 but returned in 1930 with the Chicago Cubs.  He pitched 27 innings and finished with an 8.00 ERA.
