Al Gardella, the brother of major league player Danny Gardella, died on Sept. 10, 2006 in Coral Springs, Fla. He was 88.
He had a brief career in the Major Leagues, hitting .077 in 26 at-bats for the Giants in 1945. He drove in a run.
Following his career as a player, he worked as a manager in the minor leagues.
